We are already impressed with the poster of Kangana Ranaut-starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Although the film has almost completed shooting, some patchwork is still left. The director of the film, Krish Jagarlamudi, is currently busy with NTR biopic which has an ensemble cast. Because of this, Kangana has taken it upon herself to complete the patchwork, not just as an actor but as a director as well.
According to a report by Bollywood Life,“Yes, there is some patchwork still to be completed and Krish has got busy with the NTR biopic. He is not to be blamed, Manikarnika is a period drama and such movies takes time. Kangana speaks to Krish over the phone almost every day to discuss the filming. He is there in spirit with the team of Vijayendra Prasad who has written the story and screenplay and Prasoon Joshi has penned the dialogue and lyrics, is working closely with Kangana to wrap up the film.”
Manikarnika is produced by Kamal Jain and Zee Studios. The film will mark the acting debut of Deepika Padukone’s ex-boyfriend, Nihaar Pandya, who will portray the character of Baji Rao the second (II).
It also features Jisshu Sengupta, Vaibhav Tatwawaadi, Sonu Sood and television actress Ankita Lokhande in pivotal roles. The film will hit theatres on January 25 and will lock horns with Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30 and Emraan Hashmi’s Cheat India at the box office.
