Bollywood actress, Kangana Ranaut is gearing up to release her much-anticipated film, Thalaivi. This one is based on the real-life story of late Tamil Nadu CM, J Jayalalithaa. After treating the audience with an intriguing trailer video, the makers have unleashed the first song, titled Chali Chali. Kangana reminisces the onscreen charisma of the late politician in this song.
Chali Chali song is set in the backdrop of beautiful themes. This romantic song features Kangana as the young Jayalalithaa and particularly it traces the filmy career of the late politician. Few scenes appear to be inspired by her first film Vennira Adai (1965) and her other notable films. Kangana is impressive as she reminisces the onscreen charisma which the late politician was known for in her younger days. Reportedly, Ranaut is said to have shot for almost 24 hours in the water for this song. It is crooned by Saindhavi Prakash and the lyrics have been penned by Irshad Kamil.

Talking about the film, Thalaivi also features Arvind Swami, Prakash Raj, Madhoo, and Bhagyashree in key roles. It is slated to be released in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil theatrically on April 23.
