The complaint was filed by Munawwar Ali Sayyed, a Bollywood casting director, and fitness trainer, in Bandra’s Magistrate Court in reference to Ranaut’s and her sister’s tweets and other statements related to the acting fraternity, favouritism and others through her tweets and television interviews. “She is creating divisions between Hindu and Muslim artists. She has tweeted very objectionable comments, which has not only hurt his religious sentiment but also the feeling of many film colleagues,” the complainant had submitted.
Sayyed’s lawyer told IANS. “Among the charges include Indian Penal Code Sec. 124-A (sedition), besides spreading communal hatred and falsehoods. The police have also recorded the statement of the complainant, Munawwarali Sahil A. Sayyed today in this connection.”
