Alia Bhatt and Madhuri Dixit who will be co-starring in Karan Johar’s Kalank are gearing up for a dance duet in the film.
Reports suggest that while Madhuri is a trained Kathak dancer, Alia Bhatt has been rigorously practising the dance form. She also got a chance to train under Pt. Birju Maharaj who is Madhuri’s guru as well.
Earlier, reports suggested that Madhuri Dixit will be reuniting with her favourite Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan for this film and Remo D’Souza will also be there. The duo together choreographed a major dance sequence in the film for Madhuri. It is also the first time when Madhuri Dixit and Alia Bhatt would be sharing screen space. This will be classical song that will represent the era that the film is set in.
Alia had been learning Kathak for the past one year but has been training rigorously for the past two and a half months. It seems that learning Kathak for the film was very integral for her role and hence, the actress decided to dedicate as much time as possible for the dance form.
The film stars Varun Dhawan opposite Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapoor opposite Sonakshi Sinha. It also stars Kiara Advani, Kunal Kemmu in pivotal roles and is slated to release on April 19 next year.
