The demise of veteran actor, comedian, scriptwriter, dialogue writer Kader Khan was a huge setback for Bollywood. He passed away at the age of 81 on January 1 in Canada.
The demise of Kader Khan was mourned by many Bollywood stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Govinda, David Dhawan, Shakti Kapoor, and many others. Notably, Kader Khan was suffering from health ailments for some time now.
On Thursday, Kader Khan’s fans and followers came together to pay their last respect to him at his funeral that was held in Toronto, Canada. Meanwhile, Bollywood personalities including Lawrence D’Souza, Vimal Kumar, Rajesh Bhatt, Mehul Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, comedian Sunil Pal and many more were present in a condolence meeting in Mumbai to pay their final respects to veteran actor Kader Khan.
However, Kader Khan’s son Sarfaraz lambasted Govinda over his tribute for the late actor. Govinda took to social media site Instagram and called Kader Khan a ‘father figure’.
In an interview given to news agency IANS, Sarfaraz said, “Please ask Govinda how many times he inquired about his father figure’s health. Has he even bothered to call us even once after my father’s passing away? This is the way our film industry has become. There are no real feelings for those who have contributed to Indian cinema when they’re no longer active.”
He further said, “The top guns may be seen getting clicked with these retired veterans. But the affection goes only as far as photographs. No more. Look at the condition in which Lalita Pawarji and Mohan Chotiji died. Luckily, my father had three sons to look after him. What about those who die with no financial and emotional support?”
Importantly, Govinda and Kader Khan did many movies together in the 1990s. The audience liked the comic timing of the duo.
