Amidst speculations linking him to Real Madrid, Jose Mourinho said that he wanted to stay at Manchester United, even after his contract ran out. The Portuguese gaffer hasn’t faced much success this season with the Premier League giants languishing at the tenth place in the table.

The club that he is rumoured to leave for–Real Madrid too has had a horrible season wherein they lie in the seventh place in the La Liga table under new manager Julen Lopetegui.

Mourinho’s contract at United expires in 2020 and the club has that option of extending it by a year.

“My future is here,” he said, as quoted by The Indian Express.

“I have a contract and until the final days of my contract  I only think about Manchester United. I would like to stay after my contract runs out as well,” he added.

He also stated that the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Marouane Fellaini, Jesse Lingard, Diogo Dalot, Phil Jones and Scott McTominay all have ruled out for the clash against Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday.

“The players you saw (in training) are the players that are available,” he said.

“There is nothing to hide and Alexis is out.”

He also urged Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri to give his assistant Marco Ianni a, “second chance” after the latter created a bust-up with Mourinho after the Blues equalised in the very last minute to hold United to a 2-2 draw.

Following Ross Barkley’s leveller, Ianni ran in front of Mourinho and celebrated wildly.

Former United midfielder Phil Neville called for Chelsea to sack Ianni following his behaviour but Mourinho said that he put this issue under the carpet as soon as he got an apology from him.

I’m not happy that it is going too far with the young boy, I don’t think he deserves more than what he got,” he said.

“(Ianni) apologised to me, I accept his apologies, I think he deserves a second chance, I don’t think he deserves to be sacked… It was end of the story with me in the minute he apologised,” he added, putting matters to rest.
