Mourinho is still the right man to lead Manchester United: Ryan Giggs
Under fire manager Jose Mourinho has received support from former Manchester United player Ryan Giggs, who feels that the Portuguese is still “the right man to lead the club.”
Mourinho is under a lot of pressure after his side suffered two back-to-back losses in their last two fixtures in the Premier League. After securing a victory over Leicester City in their opening game, the Red Devils were left stunned after Brighton defeated them 3-2. Recently, they were beaten 3-0 at home by Tottenham Hotspurs as Mourinho’s side have fallen to the 13th position in the league table.

When asked as to whether he would want to replace Mourinho as United manager, Giggs who is the manager of the Welsh national team, said, “Manchester United have got a fantastic manager already there. The club is going through a tough time but you’ve got to come through those tough times. I don’t see where Manchester United go after Jose Mourinho. I think they’ve got the right man and they should stick with him.”
He also said that the fans needed to stick together and support the gaffer and the club in these tough times. “I think purely coming from me being a United fan, I was there on Monday [for the Tottenham defeat], I think it’s a time for the fans to stick together, get behind the club, get behind the team, get behind the manager, get behind the coaching staff,” he added.
“I think it’s a tough time at the moment but we’ve had tough times before and we’ve come through it,” added the former United midfielder.
Manchester United next face Burnley this weekend and although Giggs reckoned that it would be a tough game, he also felt that the match would be a perfect one to turn things around.
“They’ve got a tough game at the weekend. It’s a fantastic game to get rid of all that negativity around the club. It’s a tough game, but purely speaking as a fan, I hope we come through it sooner rather than later. I’m sure we will eventually,” added the 44-year old.
