Good news for both John Cena and Fast and Furious fans. The WWE star is going to be part of Fast and Furious 9 and the news has been confirmed by Cena himself. Taking to his Twitter handle, he tweeted, “For nearly 20 years, the Fast Franchise has entertained fans and created some of the biggest cinematic moments in history. It’s an incredible honor to join this franchise and this family.”
Here’s his tweet.
Earlier expressing his desire to join the franchise, he told Entertainment Weekly, “That stuff is beyond my control, but I would absolutely love that opportunity. That, for me, would be a dream. I’m never really like, ‘Oh, I’d like to work with this person,’ but I just think between our chemistry in the live performance setting, there’s something certainly there with The Rock. So that would be my one name on the wish list.”
The ninth installment will see Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, and Nathalie Emmanuel but reports state that Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock might not be in this part. He will be seen in the spin-off of Hobbs and Shaw that is releasing on August 2.
The shoot of Fast and Furious 9 is likely to start later this month and is slated to release on May 22, 2020.
We would love to see John Cena and Dwayne Johnson together as the former had earlier told that he wanted to star alongside his WWE partner Dwayne. We wish he joins the team.
