Mumbai Saga: John Abraham to romance Kajal Aggarwal in Sanjay Gupta’s Next

Sanjay Gupta is all set to come back with “Mumbai Saga” which is a story based on true events. The makers of the film have finally the leading lady of the film. Yes, it is Kajal Aggarwal, who will be seen romancing John Abraham in Mumbai Saga. Apart from Kajal Aggarwal, makers have roped in popular television actor Samir Soni, who was last seen in Student of the Year 2.

The movie features John Abraham, Emraan Hashmi, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Samir Soni, Prateik Babbar, Gulshan Grover, Rohit Roy, and Amole Gupte among others in significant roles.

Sanjay Gupta is quoted by Mumbai Mirror as saying, “The most important thing is that my gangster films often also have strong female characters. This character starts off as John’s girlfriend, then becomes his wife.” I needed an actress who could play a 17-year-old college girl, a young wife and then, a strong woman in her 30s. I’m an admirer of Kajal’s work, she looks lovely and has a great screen presence. I’m glad we’re collaborating on this film.”

The shooting of the movie has begun at Mahalaxmi Temple in Mumbai from Tuesday. Director Sanjay Gupta took to his Twitter handle with the caption, “#MumbaiSaga Day 1 conquered in style. Great crew, great cast, great energy on set. This one is definitely going to be special.”

Bhushan Kumar also shared a photo on his Twitter handle, he captioned the photo, “The journey of Bombay’s transformation to Mumbai begins as #MumbaiSaga goes on floors today!

In a statement to Times Now, Gupta said, “25 years, 17 films later I had to give my audience something bigger and better. Mumbai Saga is by far my most ambitious film which needed a visionary producer. And I am grateful to Bhushan Kumar for putting his faith and might in it. It is one such story that needs to be said on screen.”

The film’s producer, Bhusan Kumar had praised the director and said, “Mumbai Saga is our first in the gangster-drama genre and who better than Sanjay to direct it. The film is inspired by true events yet makes the characters so larger than life. The entire cast will bring so much to the table.”

The film ‘Mumbai Saga’ is set to release on June 19, 2020.
