John Abraham Acquires Rights To Hindi Remake Of Ayyappanum Koshiyum
The film will be remade in Hindi under the JA Entertainment banner
John Abraham has acquired the rights for a Bollywood remake of the 2020 box office hit Malayalam film Ayyappanum Koshiyum. The film, which starred Prithviraj Sukumaran and Biju Menon, will be remade in Hindi under the JA Entertainment banner.
As per reports, the film is also being remade in Telugu with Rana Daggubati portraying the character of Prithviraj. Ravi Teja or N Balakrishna could step in to play the role done by Biju Menon. However, there are no more details about the Telugu remake as of now.
In addition, the film will also be remade in Tamil with Kathiresan producing the venture. He has previously made critically acclaimed films such as Aadukalam and Jigarthanda. Both films have been critically as well as commercially successful.
“Ayyappanum Koshiyum is an entertaining film that strikes a perfect balance between action, thrill and a good story. At JA Entertainment we are keen to bring such appealing stories to our audience. By doing what we do with dedication and focus, we hope to make a truly engaging film with this remake. This film also fits right into our future plans as we believe that the Hindi film industry will bounce back with efficient and entertaining projects soon after the COVID-19 crisis,” John said in a statement.
John Abraham has backed successful ventures like Ayushmann Khurrana’s debut Vicky Donor, Madras Cafe, Rocky Handsome, Force 2, Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran and Batla House.
It was announced earlier this year that the actor will be producing a biographical drama film based on the life of social entrepreneur Revathi Roy.
