Security forces on Thursday early morning neutralised two unidentified terrorists after a fierce encounter that took place in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The arms and ammunition along with bodies of two terrorists were recovered from the encounter site.
After receiving credible information, the Jammu and Kashmir Police along with the troopers of Indian Army and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation in the Khrew area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. In a fierce gun battle, two terrorists were shot dead.
The identity and the group affiliation of the killed terrorist are yet to be known. Talking to media, the police spokesperson stated that no collateral damage took place during the encounter.
On Tuesday, two terrorists including the one who was involved in the murder of Kashmiri journalist Shujaat Bukhari were killed in an encounter in valley’s Budgam district. One of the killed terrorists was identified as Naveed Jatt, who is said to have played a role in Bhukari’s assassination.
Previously, security forces busted a terrorist hideout and seized a cache of arms and ammunition in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. A cache of arms and ammunition and other usable articles were found in the hideout. These include an INSAS rifle, four magazines, 80 live INSAS rounds, 37 AK-47 rounds, a Chinese grenade and a set of utensils and blankets.
