Three abducted personal bodyguards of Khunti BJP MP Kariya Munda, along with another abducted police personnal have returned safely in the morning, informed Jharkhand Police spokesperson R K Mallick on Friday. All these three personnel were abducted on Tuesday by Pathagarhi activists while they raised a voice to the members who were demarcating the place with stone in Khatanga-Ghaghra village.
According to the information received from the police, the fourth personnal to return was thought on leave, but was kidnapped by the Pathalgarhi activists. Informing the media, ADG Mallick said that all these security personnel have returned after 18 hours of abduction, along with their weapons and the inquiry is being done.

The senior police official added that these security personnel were kept in a school in a village, Butigada, nearly 15-20 kilometres from Khunti headquarters. As over 1,000 police personnel are searching the area, the activists were forced to release these men. However, till 10 pm on Thursday, no information on their return could be confirmed.
The police were attaching the property of Patthalgarhi movement leader Yusuf Purty in his Udburu village. Soon they (police) received an information that near Karia Munda’s village in Anigara, Pathalgarhi is being carried out at Ghaghra village. The team rushed to the spot and pushed back the supporters.

With the ire against the action, the supporters entered Munda’s house and abducted his three bodyguards. Due to this a stand-off between the supporters and the police continued till evening, after which lathicharge was ordered. However, the abducted security personnel couldn’t be traced. Police had also appealed to the villagers to hand over the guards and had announced cash reward of Rs 50,000, but of no use.
