The hacker who had leaked Jennifer Lawrence’s nude pictures among other celebrities has been sent to federal prison for eight months, as stated in a report by Deccan Chronicle.
The hacker named George Garofano hacked the private Apple iCloud accounts of the actress and released nude pictures and private information on the internet. Other than spending eight months in jail, Garofano will be supervised for three years after he gets out.
There were four people who were charged in the massive celebrity hacking scandal of 2014, out of which Garofano is the last one to be charged. The other three hackers have already been sentenced. Not just Jennifer Lawrence, the scandal also saw photos of Kate Upton, Ariana Grande, Kirsten Dunst released on the internet.
The Star quoted her saying, “Just because I’m a public figure, just because I’m an actress, does not mean that I asked for this,” she told the magazine. She called the hacking a “sex crime.”
