Chief Minister Nitish Kumar “is the face of the NDA in Bihar” as it is the largest constituent of the coalition, says JD(U) national general secretary Pavan Varma.
After a core committee meeting at Kumar’s residence, Varma said, “Nitish Kumar is the face of the NDA in Bihar that is why he is the chief minister. JD(U) is the largest constituent of the coalition.”
The meeting was attended by JD(U) national general secretaries KC Tyagi and Pavan Varma, poll strategist Prashant Kishor a few other state leaders.
The committee met on Sunday in Patna, ahead of a meeting of the National Democratic Alliance scheduled later this week.
The BJP-led NDA later joined by JD(U) is scheduled to hold a meeting on June 7 in Bihar. The meeting is to be attended by Nitish Kumar, the coalition partners are likely to discuss their strategy in the state for the next Lok Sabha polls.
