Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara Police on Thursday arrested two Over Ground Workers (OGW) belonged to Hizbul Mujahideen terror outfit from Lolab area. A case FIR number 77 under relevant sections of law has been registered.
After receiving the specific input, Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara Police arrested two OGW identified as Shakir Ahmad Wani and Ghulam Mustafa Sheikh under Public Safety Act (PSA). A pistol was recovered from them.
A police spokesman said, “Acting on specific input, Kupwara police detained two persons both residents of Tekipora from Lolab area. They are being questioned.” “The police team has also recovered a pistol from their possession,” he added.
The spokesman further said, “The module was engaged in providing logistics support to militants apart from luring more youth into the path of militancy.” “A case FIR number 77 under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation is going on,” he concluded.
Notably, this is a result of intensified efforts of security forces to curb terrorism and terrorists from Jammu and Kashmir with an aim to bring peace, law and order in the valley.
In August this year, security forces arrested four over ground workers (OGW) belonged to Hizbul Mujahideen terror outfit from Rajouri district. All the four OGWs were involved in a Hawala racket and were booked under Public Safety Act (PSA).
