Jammu & Kashmir: Two armymen injured in mine explosion near Nowshera

The two injured armymen were part of the team, which was patrolling along the LOC. They unknowingly stepped on the mine, leading to the blast.

Two army men, including a lieutenant colonel, was injured after a mine exploded near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Nowshera sector on Sunday.

The explosion is said to have taken place on Sunday afternoon. While the injured army officer has been identified as Lt Colonel Amish Badola, the other injured army-men was reported to be an army havildar by The Indian Express.

Following the incident, both the injured were rushed to Army’s Command Hospital at Udhampur. Their condition is, however, stable now said the daily.

It was also reported that the two injured were part of the team, which was patrolling along the LOC. They unknowingly stepped on the mine, leading to the blast. The daily reports, that the mine was laid almost decades ago, possibly during the 1965 war. There are several mines still lying along the LOC lines.
