Jammu and Kashmir: Three Lashkar terrorist eliminated, combing operation underway
Security forces on Wednesday eliminated at least three terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Fateh Kadal locality of Srinagar. The body of slain terrorists along with arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter spot.
After receiving a specific input about the presence of three terrorists, the troopers of Indian Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and state police launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area.
The holed-up terrorists were challenged by the security forces after which an encounter started. Three terrorists identified as Faiaz, Bangru and Raees Abibulah were killed. According to the sources, out of these three, Falaz and Bangru belonged to the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror outfit.
Unfortunately, one policeman was also martyred in this encounter. However, the search and combing operation are presently underway.
More details are awaited.
On Saturday last week, security forces gunned down one terrorist in Babgund village of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Previously, security forces eliminated two Hizbul terrorists including Manan Wani in Shatgund Bala village of Handwara town in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
