Hours after eliminating two terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district, security forces on Tuesday killed another terrorist in Pulwama district. The arms and ammunition along with the body of slain terrorist were recovered from the encounter site.
After receiving a specific input about the presence 2 terrorists, the troopers of Indian Army, CRPF and Special Operations Group (SOG) of state police jointly launched a cordon-and-search operation in the Tral area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The identity and the group affiliation of the killed terrorist are yet to be known.
In a tweet, Indian Army said, “#OpReshipora (#Pulwama). One #terrorist killed in joint operation. Weapons recovered.”
Earlier in the day, two terrorists were killed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The killed terrorists have been identified as Ajaz Ahmad Makroo, resident of Qaimoh and Waris Ahmad Malik resident of Arwani. Both were affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba and were wanted for their complicity in a series of terror crimes including attack.
On Monday, security forces busted a terrorist hideout and seized a cache of arms and ammunition in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. A cache of arms and ammunition and other usable articles were found in the hideout. These include an INSAS rifle, four magazines, 80 live INSAS rounds, 37 AK-47 rounds, a Chinese grenade and a set of utensils and blankets.
Reportedly, this is the fifth major encounter in less than a week in which 19 terrorists have been gunned down in south Kashmir, so far.
