Jammu and Kashmir: CISF officer Rajesh Kumar martyred in terror attack
In Srinagar, a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) assistant sub-inspector Rajesh Kumar was martyred after the terrorists lobbed a grenade at him. The unfortunate incident happened on Friday night.
The ASI was deployed for security of a power grid at Wagoora Nowgam in Srinagar when the incident took place. A police official said, “Rajesh Kumar was immediately rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.”

According to the sources, gunfire was also reported from the area. Following the gunfire, security forces including the troopers of Indian Army, CRPF and state police launched a cordon-and-search operation.
Earlier on Friday, an army soldier Rajendra Singh lost his life when protestors hurled stones at an Army vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, security forces killed two unidentified terrorists in a fierce encounter that took place in the state’s Baramulla district.
Previously, at least six terrorists were eliminated by security forces in two separate encounters that took place in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla and Anantnag. While two were killed in Baramulla, four were killed in Anantnag.
