Jalees Sherwani, the lyricist of Salman Khan’s Wanted and Dabangg, passes away
Jalees Sherwani the lyricist of block buster movies like Wanted and Dabangg passed away today. According to reports, since last two weeks , the lyricist and screen writer was not keeping well. The latest news says that he passed away due to massive heart attack.
Indian filmmaker and social activist Ashoke Pandit shared news of Sherwani’s demise with people on Twitter. He tweeted, “Sad to know about the demise of one of our veteran writers #JaleesSherwani ji. May his family gain the strength to bear with this huge loss. We will miss U. #RIP”

His native home is Kasganj in Uttar Pradesh and he was the president of the Film Writers’ Association for quite some time. His first appearance was in the movie “Kanwarlal” with Jeetendra. Sherwani was also a social activist, he was a member of Progressive Foundation, FWA, Press Club of India etc. Besides this, he was jury member of many shows. Apart from films like Wanted and Dabangg he has contributed in other Salman Khan films as well.
