Jagannath Rath Yatra: President Kovind, PM Modi & Amit Shah Extend Wishes
Prime Minister Narendra Modi greets the nation on the occasion of Jagannath Rath Yatra
The auspicious festival and Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra has finally begun from today. Several politicians and celebrities including President Ram Nath Kovid, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have extended greeting to the citizens on nine-day annual chariot festival.
Taking to the microblogging site, Twitter, the official account of Rashtrapati Bhavan tweeted, “Greetings and good wishes to fellow citizens on the auspicious occasion of Rath Yatra. May the blessings of Lord Jagannath bring peace, happiness and prosperity to everyone’s lives.”
Greeting the citizen of India on this auspicious occasion, PM Modi wished everyone on Twitter: “Best wishes to everyone on the special occasion of the Rath Yatra. We pray to Lord Jagannath and seek his blessings for the good health, happiness and prosperity of everyone. Jai Jagannath.”
Talking about Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who has been in Gujarat for two days where he has inaugurated several projects. Amit Shah was accompanied by his wife Sonal Shah and they both offered prayers to Lord Jagannath. Notably, it is Shah’s first visit to Gujarat after he took over the position of Union Home Minister.
In order to prevent any untoward incident on this nine-day festival, huge security personnel have been deployed in different localities in the city through which holy processions will pass through after starting from the Lord Jagannath Temple in Jamalpur locality.
On the occasion of Rath Yatra, three chariots for deities named Lord Balabhadra, Lord Jagannatha and Devi Subhadra are constructed every year.
