Four people were killed while another 10 escaped injured after a gunman opened fire at a video game tournament held at a restaurant in Jacksonville, Florida on Sunday.
The shooter was reportedly part of the tournament, which was being streamed online from the GLHF Game Bar inside a Chicago Pizza restaurant. He is said to have started firing after losing the qualifier for the Madden 19 online game.

“He is a white male, and we are still working to confirm his identity,” Jacksonville Sheriff, Mike Williams was quoted as saying by Reuters. He also added that the suspect was alone and killed himself.
According to a report in the Los Angeles Times the gunman after losing appeared to have targeted several victims before killing himself.
The Sheriff’s office took to Twitter to report the incident and said that many people were transported to the hospital and the constant search was on in the incident area.
“We ask you to stay calm, stay where you are hiding. SWAT is doing a methodical search,” Tweeted the police. “We will get to you. Please don’t come running out.”

Meanwhile, the Florida shooting comes amidst the debate about the US Gun Laws and is the third such incident to have occurred since 2016. In a similar incident, many school children were killed in February 2017 when a gunman started shooting in the Parkland High School in the same city.
Just two years in another incident a gunman killed 49 people at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, reported Irish Times.
Meanwhile, reacting to the fatal mass shooting during its online tournament Madden 19 maker Electronic Arts Inc. tweeted, “This is a horrible situation, and our deepest sympathies go out to all involved.”
