Irrfan Khan’s mother Saeeda Begum took her last breath in Jaipur today due to age-related ailments. She was 95. He couldn’t attend his mother’s funeral due to the ongoing lockdown because of the coronavirus pandemic.
As per a report in New Indian Express, Irrfan is in Mumbai and the funeral of his mother took place in Jaipur today. He paid his last respects to his mother through video conference.
Saeeda Begum belonged to a Nawabi family and was also a poet. She is survived by three sons-Salman, Imran and Irrfan.
Irrfan’s younger brother, Salman told the portal, “My mother had been ill for some time. But suddenly her health deteriorated on Saturday morning. Recently, mother had inquired about Irrfan bhai’s health.”
Due to the lockdown, only a few family members could participate in the burial ceremony at Chungi Naka graveyard.
Reacting on the news of Irrfan’s mother’s death, Shoojit Sircar told SpotBoyE, “It’s very sad. I have yet to talk to him, though. I will be calling him.”

Talking about Irrfan, he made his comeback with the movie, Angrezi Medium after his treatment of cancer. The movie released and received a got response but after a few days, the lockdown was announced due to which the movie couldn’t reach more audience. Now, it is released on Disney+Hostar.
