IPL 2021: Deepak Hooda Under Scanner For Social Media Post

The Punjab Kings all-rounder Deepak Hooda has grabbed attention due to a social media post. Hooda is under scanner for a post shared ahead of the game against Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday. Looks like the cricketer might find himself in hot waters for breaching the guidelines.

Hooda took to his Twitter handle hours before the game against Rajasthan Royals. He shared a picture of himself putting on his helmet. Hooda captioned the image as “Here we go @punjabkingsipl #pbksvsrr #ipl2021 #saddapunjab.”

Officials suspect this post violates the anti-corruption guidelines. The ACU team will investigate the matter soon.

An ACU official spoke to Cricket Addictor and said, “ACU will look into this post. Our restrictions are that there shall not be any talk about the composition of the team.”

He added that cricketers are given guidelines on the dos and don’ts of social media.

The Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) headed by Shabir Hussein Shekhadam Khandwawala is currently keeping a close eye on the IPL being played in UAE. The hurdles of physical movement due to the coronavirus pandemic means that approaches if any will be made through social media. So the ACU is keeping a close eye ensuring things move smoothly without hindrances.

Former ACU chief Ajit said that while PR teams handle some of the players’ social media accounts. The players need to be careful to ensure there was no letup from their side.
