Rapper Krsna accusses IPL of plagiarising his 2017 rap for IPL 2020 anthem; composer Pranav says anthem original
IPL 2020 will have the Chennai Super Kings taking on Mumbai Indians on September 19. Recently IPL has unveiled their anthem titled “Aayenge hum wapas” meaning “We will comeback”. The 93-second video features a montage of people who are surviving the coronavirus pandemic. They are now rejoicing the prospect of seeing their favourite teams back in action. But the IPL anthem is now embroiled n a controversy.
Popular Rapper Krsna(Krishna Kaul) has accused IPL of plagiarising his track to create the 2020 anthem. He wrote, Hey guys, @IPL has plagiarised my song “Dekh Kaun Aaya Waapas” and created “Aayenge Hum Wapas” as this years anthem without credit or consent. I request my fellow artists and friends on twitter to RT this tweet for awareness, they can not get away with this. @DisneyPlusHS

The IPL Anthem garnered over 445K views on Twitter and a further 15 lakhs on Youtube.
Soon IPL Anthem composer Pranav Ajayrao Malpe reacting to Krsna’s accusation has clarified that there is no truth behind rapper Krishna Kaul’s allegation. He added that the composition is original and has not been inspired by any other artist’s work.
