Ever since the Indian government imposed a complete ban on short video streaming app-TikTok, Facebook-owned Instagram has garnered a massive amount of users by introducing its new video streaming feature- Reels. With Insta Reels, users can create innovative videos using music or songs in the backdrop. Creators can create videos up to 15-secs. According to the latest reports, the company is now deploying its resources in monetizing these short videos so it can pay the creators.
According to Android and iOS developer Alessandro Paluzzi, Instagram is considering offering monetary bonuses to Reel users. Instagram is reportedly working on creating new ways to monetize the content on Reels. Apparently, Paluzzi was digging in some back-end code when he found about this upcoming feature. He took to his Twitter handle and shared a screenshot of the same. It is expected that creators would have to reach a certain milestone in order to earn a decent amount from it.
For the unversed, YouTube is the recent one to introduced funds for the creators of Shorts. A few days ago YouTube had officially announced allowing a budget for the creators of Shorts.
Instagram on the other side has been busy with rolling out new features. It has introduced support for the insights of Reels and Live Session to help the creators and businesses with a better understanding of the statistics. The company said that this is being done to allow creators and businesses to know their analytics better.
