Injured Eoin Morgan makes way for Shahid Afridi
The exuberant event gets an euphoric skipper to lead the ICC World XI side. Who better than Shahid Afridi to accomplish the task with a wide smile on his face. Eoin Morgan was designated with this job. But an unfortunate injury to his finger ruled him out at the last moment.
He is not the only one to have missed out on this charity match. Hardik Pandya was a part of the squad but viral illness got him out of the squad and he was replaced by Mohammad Shami. Morgan fractured his finger while fielding at backward point representing Middlesex against Somerset at Tauton.
Following the bruise and x ray procedures a crack was discovered. Sam Billings will replace Morgan in the squad but leadership job was appointed to the Pakistan sensation who has played more than 500 matches for his nation.
The fundraiser will take care of the stadiums hurt by Hurricanes in the Caribbean.
Carlos Braithwaite and his side are well set to entertain the Lord’s crowd with no match pressure as such. Big sixes, fours and a lot of entertainment is what this fixture promises. Shoaib Malik, Mitchell Mclenaghan, Tom Curran, Dinesh Karthik, Tymall Mills will also feature in the big match.
