India dominated on the first day of the fourth Test at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton as the pacers led by Jasprit Bumrah (3/46) and Ishant Sharma (2/26) helped the visitors bowl out England for 246 runs. Home skipper Joe Root won the toss and decided to bat first but his decision didn’t go in his favour as the Indian fast bowlers wreaked havoc, reducing the hosts to 86/6 at one stage in the match. But the English innings saw some sort of a recovery thanks to an 81-run partnership between Moeen Ali (40) and Sam Curran. Curran top scored with 78 runs and struck a 63-run stand with Stuart Broad before the England innings came to an end and India ended the day safely at 19/0.
