Indian men’s and women’s cricket squads leave for the US tour ahead of their respective matches. The players from both the squads were spotted at the airport last night alongside a few of their family members. BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket) shared a glimpse of the players waiting at the airport.
Indian men’s cricket team is all set to play six Test matches in England including the World Test Championship final against New Zealand. On the other side, the women’s squad will be featured in the one-off Test, three One-Day Internationals and three Internationals matches.
Ahead of their departure, the press conference was held, both the captains from women’s and men’s teams talked about the upcoming matches. Virat Kohli stated, “The conditions (in England) are as potent for us as New Zealand… We are going to board the flight thinking that we’re on equal terms and whichever team performs well session-by-session, hour-by-hour is going to win that championship.”
On the other side, Mithali Raj said, “I am sure the girls have been interacting whenever they cross paths. It is good to have the men’s team here because they have played a lot in the UK and you can ask them questions, they can help out because most of the girls are playing a Test match after a long time.”
