Indian Air Force Day: Kovind, Rahul, Shah and Fadnavis wish air warriors
On the occasion of the 86th anniversary of the Indian Air Force (IAF), the Defence personnel are busy highlighting the untiring efforts and supreme sacrifices made by its brave men and women, Defence ministry said.
A grand parade cum-investiture ceremony was held at the Air Force Station in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad.
The jaw-dropping stunts, Air display and acrobatics performed by the Air Force’s various aircrafts — including Jaguar, Bison, MiG-29, Mirage-2000 and SU-30 MKI fighter jets — as well as Rudra helicopters followed the parade.
The Indian Air Force stands at number four among the air forces around the world. IAF’s primary mission is to secure Indian airspace and to conduct aerial warfare during an armed conflict. The Indian Air Force was first established on October 8, 1932, as an auxiliary air force under the British Empire which honoured India’s aviation service during World War II.
On the occasion of 86th Indian Army Force, several politicians took to Twitter to congratulate the Indian Air Force. President Ram Nath Kovind wrote on Twitter: “On Air Force Day, we proudly honour our air warriors, veterans, and families of the Indian Air Force. They safeguard our skies with courage and commitment.”
