India vs Windies: Second ODI shifted from Indore to Visakhapatnam
Following the rift between the MPCA and CoA over the distribution of complimentary tickets, the second ODI between India and West Indies has been shifted from Indore to Visakhapatnam, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Wednesday.
The match was earlier scheduled to be held at the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association, but an allegation by MPCA secretary Milind Kanmadikar that the association was in no position to meet BCCI’s demand for a 10% complimentary tickets meant the match was shifted to a different venue.
“The second Paytm ODI to be played between India and Windies will now be held at Visakhapatnam’s Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACAVDCA Cricket Stadium,” the BCCI said in a press release.

Earlier Kanmadikar was quoted by PTI as saying that “the managing committee of MPCA has decided that it is not possible to organise the second ODI between India and West Indies in Indore if BCCI doesn’t back down from its demand of complimentary tickets. We have intimated BCCI.
The new BCCI constitution states that 90% tickets from the total capacity of the stadium must be put up for sale, with only the other 10 percent complimentary tickets left.
But with the Holkar Stadium in Madhya Pradesh accommodating only 27,000 seats, the State was left with only 2700 complimentary tickets. The BCCI had also demanded its share of 700 complimentary tickets, which led to the rift between both the associations.
The MPCA had mailed the Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administration (CoA), which has been given the powers to guide the BCCI till the elections, appealing to give them a solution. But reportedly received no replies until Saturday. It only received a reply after announcing its inability to hold the match, said Kanmadikar in a chat with the Hindustan Times.
India’s series with West Indies begins with two Test matches, before moving to the ODI and the ODI and Twenty20 formats. The first Test starts from October 4.
