The West Indies cricket team on Tuesday underwent their first full-fledged practice session ahead of their opening Test match against India in starting October 4. Led by Jason Holder the Island nation will play two a Test series against the World No.1 side, with the first match at the Saurashtra, while the second will be played in Hyderabad.
“The team held its first practice session at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot, ahead of the start of the 1st Test on Thursday, October 4th from 9:30am IST. #WindiesCricket #ItsOurGame,” Windies Cricket tweeted on Tuesday.

The Windies had earlier played a two-day practice game against the Board President’s XI at the Reliance Stadium in Vadodara as a preparation for the Test series. The match ended in a draw.
Middle-order batsman Sunil Ambris (114) scored a brilliant hundred in the practice match, while Kraigg Brathwaite (54) and Shane Dowrich (65) chipped with half-centuries as the visitors piled-up big runs on the scoreboard.
Leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo took three wickets, while Shannon Gabriel returned with two wickets as the Windies completed a successful practice match.
Following the conclusion of the two-match Test series, the Windies will play five one-day internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 internationals against India.
Meanwhile, opening batsman Mayank Agarwal, who earned his maiden call-up in the Indian Test team for the Windies tour, scored 90 runs for Board President’s XI.
