After securing contrasting wins in the first two matches in Kolkata and Lucknow, India would have their sights set on securing a whitewash when they lock horns with the West Indies in the final T20I of the three-match affair in Chennai.
This game, which is inconsequential in terms of the outcome of the series would be interesting to watch with India keen on testing their bench-strength. The likes of Siddharth Kaul, Shahbaz Nadeem and Washington Sundar would be keen to step up and impress with their performances, keeping the 2019 World Cup in mind.

That being said, India would also want to avoid any slip-ups like the first match where they had lost their way at one point of time with the bat before Dinesh Karthik bailed the side out of further trouble.
But an emphatic display by stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma in was the highlight of India’s outright dominance, all throughout the series.
That the West Indies have just won one and drew one in this tour so far speaks volumes of how one-sided the recent contests between both these sides, in all formats have been.
A 2-0 drubbing in the Test series was followed by a much-improved performance by the West Indies in the ODIs where they drew one match and manage to shock India in the following fixture.
With the beginning of the T20I series, they were expected to dominate, given their prowess in the shortest version of the game, well-explained by their two World T20 titles in 2012 and 2016
But the change in format failed to bring about a change in fortunes as the outcome of the matches remained the same. They got close in Kolkata but Karthik’s saving act prevented them from going over the line. In Lucknow, they were blown away by a master-class from Rohit himself as India went on to clinch an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
But come Sunday, they would want to put all of that behind and give it their all in winning the contest, to put an end to what has been a nightmare of a tour.
