All India Trinamool Youth Congress (AITYC) holds protest under the leadership of Abhishek Banerjee
In an earlier report given by the IANS, the Trinamool Congress Party West Bengal ruling’s Trinamool Congress on Wednesday said it would organise protests in the city on Friday against sharp hike in fuel prices across the country.
Similar protests would be held in all the Bengal districts on Saturday and Sunday, Trinamool Secretary General Partha Chatterjee had said.
“The prices of petrol and diesel have touched an all time high and this steep hike in price is massively impacting the common people” he said, reinstating that the Trinamool Congress Party would be the ones to organise this protest.
“The Centre did not slash the prices of petrol and diesel even when the prices were low in the international market”, said Chatterjee, who is also the state Education Minister.

All India Trinamool Youth Congress chief Abhishek Banerjee, MP,lead a protest against the “irrational” price hike from 8B Bus stand in Jadavpur to Hazra Crossing was lead whilst in other places a protest march from Subodh Mullick Square to Park Street was held on May 29th, organised by Trinamool Youth Congress. Prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas have been spiraling over the past few days, leasding to a cascading effect on prices of goods which need to be transported.

Chief Minister and All India Trinamool Congress Chairperson Mamata Banerjee had tweeted on May 20 in this connection: “We are very concerned about the rising prices of petrol and diesel. This will certainly affect prices all around. Common people, farmers and many will suffer.”
On May 22, All India Trinamool Youth Congress Chairperson and Member of Parliament Abhishek Banerjee had tweeted: “As we witness the magic of #AccheDin on this momentous occasion, Petrol turns 80 and Diesel turns 70. Please do send in your good wishes to their custodians for being so generous and sincere in raising the two.”
