India already have won the series 2-0 with the third game remaining. The hosts won the 1st game in Kolkata by five wickets riding on a patient knock from Dinesh Karthik with the bowlers setting up the victory.
In the second math in Lucknow, it was stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma who bludgeoned his way to a hundred and set the tone for a 71-run win which gave them an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match affair.
Now that the team management has decided to rest these key bowlers for the inconsequential match, it would provide a perfect opportunity to the likes of Shahbaz Nadeem, Washington Sundar and Siddharth Kaul to showcase their talent and impress the selectors, keeping in mind the 2019 World Cup next year.
