India reports 41,383 new COVID-19 cases and 507 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry data. This takes the overall caseload and death toll to 31,257,720 and 418,987 respectively. India’s total tally of COVID-19 cases surged to 3,12,57,720. At present, India’s recovery rate is 97.35%.
38,652 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours. The number of recoveries now stands at 3,04,29,339 across the country. The overall recovery rate for Covid in India is now at 97.35 per cent.
A total of 450,911,712 samples have been tested for the Covid-19 disease till now, of which 1718,439 were tested in the last 24 hours, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said on Thursday.
More than 415 million vaccine doses have been administered across the country. 328,716,212 have received the first dose and the remaining 86,756,243 have received both doses.
Kerala and the northeast are still going through a surge. Kerala reported 17,481 cases on Wednesday, which was the highest among states. Maharashtra’s case count of 8,159 cases was the second highest after Kerala.
More than 3,500 old deaths have been added to Maharashtra’s COVID toll in a single day. This takes the overall pandemic deaths since March 2020 to 1.3 lakh.
