The date 15th of August from 1947 in India has become a very important day in Indian history. It was the luckiest day of the year 1947 when India got freedom from the British government after lots of hard struggle and sacrifices of the Indian freedom fighters.

When India got its independence, the public of India had chosen their first Prime Minister, Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru who had unfurled the tricolour National Flag at the Red Fort in the national capital, New Delhi for the first time. All the people rejoice this special day with great joy every year.

Good morning to respected teachers, parents and my dear colleagues. We are gathered here to celebrate nth Independence day. I am very happy to give a speech here on this great occasion. I am very thankful to my teacher to give me such a special opportunity to say my views on independence day. At this special occasion of independence day, I would like to speak on India’s struggle for getting independence from the British rule.

Long years ago, great Indian leaders and freedom fighters sacrificed their lives to give us Freedom. Today we are gathered here to celebrate independence day without any fear and having a happy face just because of our brave ancestors. We cannot imagine by sitting/standing here that how hard the independence was for India from the British rule. We have nothing to give our ancestors in return for their precious hard works and sacrifices. We can only remember them and their works and make a heartily salute while celebrating the national events. They would always be in our hearts.

Some of our great freedom fighters and leaders are Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Gandhiji, Bhagat Singh, Lala Lajpat Rai, Chandrashekhar Azad, Rani Lakshmibai, Vallabhbhai Patel, Ashfaqulla Khan, Mangal Pandey, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Udham Singh, Tatya Tope, Ram Prasad Bismil, Sukhdev Thapar, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Khudiram Bose, Sarojini Naidu, Madan Lal Dhingra who had lost their lives just for freedom.

India got independence on the 15^th of August in 1947 from the clutches of British rule. We celebrate this national festival annually with lots of joy and enthusiasm.

A huge Independence Day celebration takes place in New Delhi at Rajpath every year where the national anthem is sung after the flag hoisting by the prime minister. Together with the national anthem, a salute through 21 guns firing and showering of flowers through helicopter is given to our national flag. Independence day is a national event however everyone celebrates this from their own places by hosting the flags in schools, offices or society. We should feel proud to be an Indian.

We should Take charge of the cleanliness of our surroundings – Swachh Bharat isn’t just the government’s dream. We should make our country the best in the world.

देश दिन प्रतिदिन केवल आगे बढ़ गया है और एक महाशक्ति बनने के अपने रास्ते पर है। भारत की स्वतंत्रता के चार वर्षों के पूरा होने से पहले, हमने इसे संविधान की शुरूआत के साथ गणराज्य बनाकर देश को मजबूत किया जिससे पूरी दुनिया झुकती है। हम एक विशाल विविधता का देश हैं, और हमारी एकता हमें एक मजबूत राष्ट्र बनाती है। प्रौद्योगिकी से कृषि तक हम दुनिया के शीर्ष देशों में से एक हैं, और यहां से कोई पीछे नहीं जा रहा है क्योंकि हम हमेशा बढ़ने और बेहतर करने के कदम पर हैं।

आज का दिन उन सभी शहिदों को याद करने का है उनके इस कर्ज को तो हम कभी नहीं चूका पाएंगे लेकिन इतना जरुर है की उनके द्वारा दिलाई गयी इस आजादी को हम संभाल कर रखेंगे.

ब्रिटीशियों ने जो किया है उससे सिख लेनी है हमें और अपने भारत को इतना मजबूत करना है की कोई और हम पर कब्जा करने की तो दूर की बात है हमारे भारत की तरफ आँख उठा कर भी न देख सके.

हमारे भारत के लिए जीन हस्तियों ने अपनी जान की कुर्बानी दी है मै उनको नमन करता हूँ और कसम खाता हूँ की अपने भारत के लिए अगर जान भी देनी पड़ेगी तो मैं पीछे नहीं हटूंगा.
