Chennai City continued their perfect run in I-League with another 1-1 draw against Mohun Bagan at the Salt Lake stadium in Kolkata on Saturday.
Sony Norde broke the deadlock with a sensational strike in the 50th minute but Nestor Gordillo pulled the threads on Bagan, who are still chasing their first win at home.
In three home matches, Bagan has drawn twice and lost once, a 0-3 humbling against Churchill Brothers on Sunday and following the 1-1 draw here against Chennai, the Green and Maroons have nine points.
Chennai, on the other, leads the points table and are already seven points ahead of the second-placed Churchill Brothers. They have 17 points from seven matches.
Norde provided the missing cog in the wheel with a sensational strike in the 50th minute because until then Mohun Bagan looked like they had done everything they could have to break the deadlock but just couldn’t tear it open.
