Australia recorded a resounding win over England in the final of the ICC Women’s World T20 on Sunday.
This win thus makes them the four-time winners of the title as they crossed the finishing line by eight wickets.
The Australians had a tough day in the field but their bowlers more than made up for the slip-ups as England were dismissed for just 105 runs in 19.4 overs.
Leg-spinner Georgia Wareham was the best bowler for Australia with figures of 2/11 while Ashleigh Gardner ended with figures of 3/22. Gardner also hit 33 runs and stayed unbeaten till the end as Australia got to the title with 29 balls to spare.
England won the toss and decided to bat first but this move wasn’t backed by the batswomen as they never really got any momentum. Barring Danielle Wyatt and skipper Heather Knight.

A poor effort with the bat from England saw Australia produce an equally strong one, with captain Meg Lanning accompanied by Gardner making the chase look ridiculously easy.
Australia achieved the total with almost five overs left to bat. The scenes at the stadium at the end of the match saw the English players breaking down after having failed to go all the way.
But England deserve a pat on the back for having made it this far into the competition without two of their most important and experienced campaigners in Sarah Taylor and Katherine Brunt.
Yet they had brilliant performances coming in from the spin duo of Sophie Ecclestone and Kirstie Gordon.
Brief scores: Australia 106 for 2 (Gardner 33*, Lanning 28*) beat England 105 (Wyatt 43, Knight 25, Gardner 3-22, Wareham 2-11) by eight wickets
