A 30-year-old domestic help at IAF Chief BS Dhanoa’s residence in Delhi allegedly committed suicide on Thursday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Manoj Kumar.
The investigative team of police on Friday said, “He hung himself in the servants quarter at the Air Chief Marshal’s residence on Akbar Road. The incident took place on Thursday afternoon.”
“The servants quarter was latched from inside and despite repeated knocks, Kumar did not open the door,” the police team said, adding that they were informed and upon arriving they broke open the door and found Kumar hanging from the ceiling. “No suicide note was found,” they concluded.
Police have ruled out foul play as the door of the room was locked from inside. However, the police suspect he was upset about some personal issues and was suffering from depression. Further, the investigation is underway.
More details awaited.
It is to be noted that Kumar was a contractual employee and stayed in northeast Delhi’s Gokalpuri. He did not stay in the servants quarter.
