An alliance between American multinational corporation Boeing and Indian Air Force will work towards modernising the Indian Air Force’s helicopter fleet. The motive of the project is to strengthen the Indian armed forces’ capabilities for which the aerospace major company has brought the AH-64E Apache and CH-47F (I) Chinook choppers to the country. These highly advanced helicopters are huge assets for the Indian Air Force.
AH-64 Apache is the world’s most advanced multi-role combat helicopter and currently used by the US Army and various other potential international defence forces. However, American defence major Boeing has delivered more than 2,100 Apaches to countries around the world.
The major mission of Boeing has been optimising the readiness of the Apache fleet around the globe. Fortuitously, since 1984 when the first AH-64A Apache was delivered to the US Army, Apache fleet has gathered more than 3.9 million flight hours in the western army.
Since three years, government was delaying in clearing off the dues with the purchase of new attack and heavy-lift choppers from the US. Now, government has finally cleared all the purchases that were made.
