From Shakti Mohan to Kunwar Amar- see how these dancers have transformed
Indian reality TV has witnessed many dance shows but the all time favorite of the audiences is Dance India Dance. The show has given us most of our favourite dancers. While some of them have made it to the movies already, there are some who continue to grace small screens.
But there is a vast difference from the time when they had come on the show for the first time and how their life has changed after the show. Not just the contestants but the Masters as well have got a great deal. Master Remo D’ Souza is choreographing and directing hit movies, master Geeta and Terence Lewis are celebrity choreographers. Here are some celebrities and their journey towards where they are today.
The pretty winner of Dance India Dance Season 2, Shakti Mohan is now an actress who was also a finalist in another dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in 2014. She now runs her own studio Nritya Shakti in Mumbai and has choreographed her first song Nainowale Ne from the movie Padmaavat.
Both celebrity choreographer and director Remo D’Souza has directed hit movies like F.A.L.T.U, ABCD: Any Body Can Dance and ABCD 2.He was the ‘super judge’ on the prime dance show Dance Plus, judged Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa alongside Karan Johar and Madhuri Dixit Nene and is currently appearing as a judge on Dance Champions with Terence Lewis.
Geeta Maa is one of the most famous female choreographers in Bollywood and she made her debut on TV as a judge on Dance India Dance. She was earlier seen in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
Terence Lewis runs his own dance company in the name of Terence Lewis Contemporary Dance Company in Mumbai. He conducts dance workshops both abroad and in India. Master Terence is the example of how hard work and dedication will bring you nothing but success!
Apart from having a glorious career as a dancer and a choreographer, we have seen the charming Punit Pathak in movies like ABCD: Any Body Can Dance as well. He also judged the fifth season of the show where he had come as a contestant.
Dharmesh Yelande rose to fame with DID, DID Li’l Master (as a mentor) and Dance Ke Superstars. After his remarkable performance in the reality TV shows, he was hired by Farah Khan to choreograph for the film Tees Maar Khan.
Amarjeet Singh started his career as dance instructor until one day he auditioned for DID and turned it around for himself. The dancer was also an actor on shows like Dil Dosti Dance and Naamkarann.
