Former Pakistan cricketer Imran Khan announced his oath-taking ceremony to be held on August 11 after becoming the new Prime Minister of Pakistan. The tall fast bowler invited Kapil Dev, Navjot Singh Sidhu and Sunil Gavaskar who are his old friends from the cricketing fraternity. Apart from cricketers, it is rumoured that Bollywood celebrity Aamir Khan is also invited for the ceremony.
Punjab Cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu had a fierce rivalry with Imran Khan back in their days when the two impact cricketers represented their nation on the cricket field. As they were developing ferocious competition on the field, they were very good companions off the field. The two shared a great friendship and the invitation to the oath ceremony speaks volumes about their good relations.

Sidhu is thrilled to see the Pakistani attain new journey of his life and he has accepted the invitation from Imran Khan to attend the oath ceremony. He says that Imran is a very good man and he might change situations in Pakistan substantially.
“It is a great honour, I accept the invitation. Men of genius are admired, men of power are feared, but men of character are trusted. Khan Sahab is a man of character. He can be trusted. Sportsmen build bridges, break barriers, unite people,” Sidhu said.
Imran Khan’s party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf emerged as the single-largest party in the National Assembly after last week’s general election.
Before his regime begins, he has already signaled about improving ties with the neighboring country by inviting major personalities from India for the all-important oath swearing day.
