Another horrific incident of honour killing came to light in Pakistan in which an 18-year-old girl and her 21-year-old boyfriend were beheaded by her father and uncle.
The honour killing incident reportedly took place in a small village in Attock district, when the girl’s boyfriend arrived at the girl’s house to meet her, Pakistan newspaper Dawn reported.
Soon after the girl’s father noticed his arrival, he along with the girl’s uncle walked in and tied the victims with ropes and beheaded them with a sharp knife.
According to the report, The police have arrested both suspects and recovered the murder weapon as well, sub-inspector of Saddar police station Asif Khan told Dawn.
This was not the first honour killing that happened in Pakistan, numbers of people in Pakistan, mostly women are being killed by their own relatives for involving in affairs and illegal relationships.
According to the Pakistan Human Rights Commission report, at least 280 such murders were recorded from October 2016 to June 2017 – a figure believed to be understated and incomplete.
