Sunday brought a tragic news for the Himachal Pradesh as at least nine people were killed while 30 others injured after a private bus fell into a gorge near Dadahu.
Notably, the private bus carrying 45 passengers was on its way from Nahan towards Dadahu when the unfortunate accident took place. The bus plunged into a rivulet at Jalal bridge near Dadahu in Renuka sub-division of Himachal Prdesh’s Sirmaur district.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Virender Singh Thakur told news agency PTI, “Around 30 people were injured in the accident.” “After getting informed about the accident, the police rushed to the spot and commenced rescue and relief operation. The wounded were taken to Nahan Medical College for treatment,” he added.
He further noted that the preliminary investigation suggests the bus was being driven rashly due to which accident took place. “A case under India Penal Code sections 279 (rash driving), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), 338 (causing grievous hurt), and 304 A (causing death by negligence) has been registered against the driver,” said the officer.
In another mishap, a tourist bus travelling from Delhi plunged into a gorge at Kiari Nallah on Solan/Shimla border. At least 21 people were injured in the accident. As per the report, the driver lost control of the bus at the Kiari Mor, following which the vehicle fell into the nullah. Local residents rushed to help and took the injured to a local hospital in Junga.
