Henry Cavill May Return As Superman For Shazam 2

While all signs suggest that Henry Cavill may be done with Superman for good, there are rumors that he might revisit the role for Shazam 2. According to said rumors, Henry Cavill may be back as Superman to square up against Shazam. Further, the rumors also claim that Henry Cavill will be playing a mind-controlled version of the Man of Steel.

Superman will come under the influence of Mister Mind who is the last survivor of a mind-controlling race of worms from Venus. This was teased at the end of Shazam in the post-credit scene and it will be interesting to see Cavill be a part of the narrative. His role is supposed to be a small cameo.

However, this news should only be taken with a grain of salt as the rumors surrounding Henry Cavill are not limited to Shazam. He is also rumored to be in contention for the role of Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition, fans have been clamoring to see the star as Captain Britain.

Henry Cavill’s manager is Dany Garcia who is the former wife and business partner of Dwayne Johnson. Dwayne, of course, has been cast as Black Adam in the DC Extended Universe. It would make sense that his input would have an impact on the decision of Cavill’s run as Superman.

While there is no official statement to point us the right way, Henry Cavill has said that he will fight for the role. In addition, his success after doing the mega-popular Netflix series The Witcher might also have boosted his chances.
