Helpless parents watch six-year-old in pain after being brutalised by eunuch

A six-year-old homeless girl, was kidnapped and then brutally raped by a eunuch late on the night of July 14 on Central Delhi’s Minto area. The girl’s mother had passed away two years ago and she now lived with her father and stepmom on a street.
The accused is also homeless and stayed on the same footpath as the minor girl.

On Saturday, the girl was allegedly kidnapped by the accused while she was playing near the Kali Mandir of Minto Road. She lives in a footpath near the temple.

After a while when her parents failed to spot her, they raised an alarm. She was found at 11.30pm that night in a pool of blood, grievously injured.

Her internal organs are damaged. Doctors say they don’t even know if she can be cured. Her mother begs & father is a rickshaw driver. They sleep on footpaths. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared her condition to be critical. The girl’s internal organs have been severely damaged despite a 4 hour long surgery and she also lost a lot of blood, according to the Delhi Commission for Women.

“The girl was writhing in pain and her parents stood there, helpless. He had kidnapped the girl and taken her to an empty plot and raped her. They find it terribly difficult to make both ends meet and so we promised to help them through the procedure. She was rushed to Lok Nayak hospital, where she was admitted to the ICU in a critical condition, police said.

DCW chief Swati Maliwal visited the girl and has promised monetary help for her recovery and rehabilitation. Ms Maliwal also tweeted about the incident and requested the judiciary to hang the accused. The girl underwent a surgery that lasted for over four hours But she remains critical as her internal organs have been severely damaged, a DCW official said. “She may take a very long time to recover from the brutal assault” the official added.

CCTV camera footage from the area was scanned and over 150 people were questioned. Eventually, police zeroed in on a eunuch named Baiju, the Times of India reported. He had kidnapped the girl and taken her to an empty plot and raped her. He then fled the scene.

The DCW is also going to file an application for monetary compensation to the girl, who belongs to a very poor family.

The case seems to have followed suit after the multiple cases of minor rapes that have gripped the nation.
