On Monday, Paul Ritter, who starred in the 2009 film ‘Harry Potter’ has passed away after battling a brain tumor. Ritter’s agent confirmed the news to BBC said that the actor passed away with his family by the side. He was 54.
The agent said, “It is with great sadness we can confirm that Paul Ritter passed away last night. He died peacefully at home with his wife Polly and sons Frank and Noah by his side. He was 54 and had been suffering from a brain tumour.”
“Paul was an exceptionally talented actor playing an enormous variety of roles on stage and screen with extraordinary skill. He was fiercely intelligent, kind and very funny. We will miss him greatly,” said the agent.
Friday Night Dinner writer Robert Popper took to his Twitter handle and offer condolences. He wrote: “Devastated at this terribly sad news. Paul was a lovely, wonderful human being. Kind, funny, super caring and the greatest actor I ever worked with x”

Paul Ritter will soon be seen in the 10th anniversary retrospective of ‘Friday Night Dinner’ which will air on Channel 4 later this year. The show also stars Tamsin Greig, Simon Bird, and Tom Rosenthal in the lead roles.
Paul is survived by his wife Polly and sons, Frank and Noah.
He had roles in films including ‘Son of Rambow’ (2007), ‘Quantum of Solace’ (2008), ‘Harry Potter’ and the ‘Half-Blood’ ‘Prince’ (2009), and ‘The Eagle’ (2011), as well as television programs- ‘Friday Night Dinner’ (2011–2020), ‘Vera,’ ‘The Hollow Crown’, ‘The Last Kingdom’ and ‘Chernobyl.’
