India lost to Pakistan in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 clash on October 24 in Dubai. Soon Pakistan’s former left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir took a dig at Harbhajan Singh on social media. The veteran Indian skipper retaliated in kind. This led to a war of words between the two on Twitter.
It was Amir who started the banter by sharing a clip from an old cricket match. In the clip former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi smashed Harbhajan for a few sixes. Harbhajan soon responded in kind and shared a still from Lord’s 2010 Test between Pakistan and England where Amir was found guilty of spot-fixing.
Here is what they tweeted:
Amir took to Twitter on Monday and taunted, “Harbhajan Paa ji ne TVto nai toda apna?” To this, Bhajji replied, “Ab Tum bi bologe @iamamirofficial. yeh 6 ki landing tumhare ghar k tv par to nahi hui thi ?? Koi nahi hota hai end of the day it’s a game of cricket as u rightly said”
Amir soon stooped low and used derogatory language towards the legendary Indian spinner. However, the Turbanator responded and wrote: “For people like you @iamamirofficial only Paisa paisa paisa paisa .. na izzat na kuch aur sirf paisa..bataoge nahi apne desh walo ko aur supporters ko k kitna mila tha .. get lost I feel yuk talking to people like you for insulting this game and making people fool with ur acts.”
In his last tweet, Harbhajan shared a video from an old match where he is seen smashing Amir for a six and he captioned the post as: “Fixer ko sixer.. out of the park @iamamirofficial chal daffa ho ja.”
For the unversed: Pakistan cricketers Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Amir, and Salman Butt were involved in a spot-fixing scandal during Pakistan’s tour of England in 2010. All three were handed substantial bans.
