Govinda Claims He Was Offered Lead Role In Avatar But Rejected For THIS Reason
Govinda claims he suggested the name to the director James Cameron
Bollywood actor and star comedian Govinda has recently made a startling revelation at Rajat Sharma’s show Aap Ki Adalat. In an interview with Rajat Sharma, Govinda revealed that he was offered a key role in all-time blockbuster film Avatar and suggested the tile to James Cameron. The Hero No 1 actor rejected James Cameron’s offer to play a lead role in Avatar because he did not want to paint his entire body.
In the same interview, Govind said, “I gave the title of the film. It turned out to be a super hit film. I had informed him that the film will do really well. I told him that I feel it will take seven years for him to complete the film. He got angry. When I said so, he asked, ‘How can you be so sure that I won’t be able to make Avatar for seven years?’ I told him that what he was imagining was something almost impossible.”
Notably, Avatar has been the highest-grossing film at the box office before Avengers: Endgame dethroned it recently. Divulging more details for rejecting James Cameron’s offer, Govind said, “He wanted me to shoot for 410 days. For someone like me, to get painted all over the body was something I could not do. So, I apologised.”
Apart from Avatar, Govinda has also revealed that he turned several Bollywood movies such as Taal, Chandni, Gadar, and Devdas.
On the professional front, Govinda was last seen in Rangeela Raja co-starring Mishika Chourasia and Anupama Agnihotri.
